History of Stray Part 2

UPDATE: Featuring songs from the original line-up: Del Bromham, Steve Gadd, Ritchie Cole, and Gary Giles.

This will be the second time for many years that they have performed together. Along with the current line-up of Del BromhamPeter Dyer, Stu Uren, and Karl Randall, this will be a night to remember. Hope you can make it.

Back in 1966, England won the World Cup, Harold Wilson was Prime Minister, and three young teenagers formed a band at Christopher Wren School in London. Their average age was just 14. Within three years they’d become regulars on the London club circuit, performing at such venues as Shepherds Bush Goldhawk Club, and Covent Garden’s Middle Earth.

In May 1969, Stray supported The Groundhogs at Southall Farx Club. They signed to Transatlantic Records within a year. Stray appeared at their first Reading Festival in 1971, and made their television debut on BBC-2 the same year.

Fast-forward to 2017 Stray are still going, still featuring original lead guitar hero, Del Bromham. Today’s Stray are a melodic mix of Hard Rock and Heavy Blues. The albumValhalla won the prestigious GRTR.com Album of the Year award. A regular star turn at the annual Cambridge Rock Festival, Del Bromham’s Stray mix scintillating guitar playing in a power trio format with melodic anthemic songs such as “All in Your Mind” – covered by the million selling Iron Maiden.

This show is very much a work in progress. Del will be inviting members of the original 1966 line-up to play with him and has a few surprises up his sleeve. One thing you can bet on: no matter what happens a night of Del Bromham and Stray is going to be hugely entertaining.
